Libraries Closed on Saturday April 3rd for Spring Break

The University Libraries are closed on Saturday, April 3rd for Spring Break. The Central Reading Room, North Reading Room, and Main Circulation will reopen on Sunday, April 4th at 2 PM. For more information check the Library Hours page.

This workshop will highlight some of the most interesting web sites and web tools, and discuss search methods to help you find quality historical information online. Learn about:

  • History Web Sites
  • Major Digital and Audio/Visual Collections

  • Historic Newspaper Collections

  • Google Books and other Online Book Collections

  • Domain Searches and Other Advanced Searching

  • Creating a Google Custom Search

  • Wikipedia as a way of finding Online Resources

Workshop: Beyond Blackboard

Beyond Blackboard there are collaborative Web tools and networks for enhancing group work, sharing content and managing projects. In this workshop learn:

• How to create and mange groups on the Web using PBWorks, Google Groups and more
• Tips and tools for online group work
• How to share online content and research, including using Google Docs
• Where researchers and scholars share links and build communities online, including Connotea and LinkedIn
